Myntra changes its logo after activist calls it 'offensive' towards women!  I came across this piece of news recently on various online news platforms and it just blew my mind. I  mean how idle or pervert one has to be to see something offensive in a logo?   Naaz Patel is a social activist who founded an NGO which goes by the name Avesta Foundation located in Mumbai which provides shelter, food, and medical assistance to destitute senior citizens and marginalized section of the society. The recent ordinance on unlawful conversion enacted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh has opened a pandora's box. Ever since the implementation of the law, I have been seeing debates about it on primetime shows on various news channels. A bunch of articles has been published on online platforms by various news networks debating as to "how secular is this law?" and whether it will affect inter-faith marriages and the special marriage act. The most common observation while reading these news articles was how these Hindu fanatics and the BJP was responsible for bringing this law into force and how it was violating the basic human right of a person to exercise their right to follow whichever religion they wanted to. It has been more than a month and I haven't vented out things off my chest for long now. Sometimes I go through this weird phase where I let every thought every emotion build up and then a day comes when I blast like a bomb. Menstruation, periods, chumming. We all have come across these words in our lives but people mostly talk about it in hushed tones as if it were a punishable offense to even mention these words loudly. It is most certainly a taboo to talk about these subject in public and I want to contribute in a small way in eradicating this taboo. A girl experiences periods for the "most part of her life" starting from the age of 10-12 which lasts up to the age of 45-50 on an average (although it may vary depending from person to person) and yet we do not talk about it openly. So let us start a conversation and normalize this because it is a natural process and there is nothing to be ashamed of. A few years ago I remember to have commented something I considered "funny" at that time on a Facebook post which made fun of men and the problems they face on a daily basis. One of my brothers messaged me saying that was outright offensive and that I should be sensitive towards the feelings of men as well and how would I feel if a similar offensive joke was cracked on a woman.
